Notification of potential workplace COVID-19 exposure

Dear Colleagues
Throughout the pandemic, we have adjusted our protocols in response to evolving infection control guidance and requirements from regulatory and public health agencies. This notification process is a California COVID-19 requirement that originally went into effect Jan. 1, 2021, and it meets Cal-OSHA notification guidelines that went into effect June 16.
Fresno State was notified on Oct. 6 that an individual infected with COVID-19 was present in campus buildings on the following dates:
- 1 individual on Sept. 28, Sept. 29: Physical Therapy Intercollegiate Athletics (PTIA)
Fresno State was notified on Oct. 7 that an individual infected with COVID-19 was present in campus buildings on the following dates:
- 1 individual on Oct. 4, Oct. 6: Social Sciences
- 1 individual on Sept. 27, Sept. 28: Peters Business
- 1 individual on Sept. 20: Kremen Education, McKee Fisk
If you were present at these worksite locations during the time periods provided, please note that an exposure investigation is underway. If it is determined that you were in close contact with the infected individual, you will be contacted directly by Environmental Health and Safety.A close contact is defined as having close contact (within 6 feet) for 15 minutes or more during a 24-hour cumulative period with a person who tested positive for COVID-19.

As an employee, if you are required to quarantine or become ill because of COVID-19, you may be entitled to various leave-related benefits under applicable federal and state laws and University-specific policies and agreements.
