COVID-19 Updates
Voluntary flu shots Oct. 13 and 15 (students)
Oct. 9, 2020
Dear Students,
As the fall and winter cold and flu season ramps up, and the COVID-19 pandemic continues,
getting a flu shot this year is highly recommended by the Centers for Disease Control
and Prevention and the Fresno County Department of Public Health.
The Student Health and Counseling Center will be offering flu shots at no cost to all Fresno State students on Oct. 13 and 15 from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the Student Recreation Center. No appointment is necessary.
Please remember prior to your arrival to complete the daily healthy-screening tool found here, and to bring your phone to confirm that you have been cleared to be on campus. Wearing facial coverings and maintaining physical distance will be required, in keeping with campus requirements this fall semester.
Influenza (the flu) and COVID-19 are both contagious respiratory illnesses with similar symptoms, but caused by different viruses. Getting a flu vaccine can protect you, your family and your community from the flu, and it can help reduce the burden on our health care systems responding to the pandemic. Visit the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention to learn more about the flu and COVID-19.
Thank you all for doing your part to keep each other safe.
Sincerely,
Janell Morillo, Ed.D.
Associate Vice President, Student Health, Counseling and Wellness
