COVID-19 Updates
Don’t Forget to Sign Up for Your COVID-19 Vaccination
March 9, 2021
Dear Colleagues,
I have been hearing the great news from many faculty and staff members that they have had their first COVID-19 vaccination, now available for educators in Fresno County. I hope those of you who have not signed up yet will do so soon! It is my hope that the voluntary participation by our campus community will be high so that we can mitigate the number of positive cases and have the ability to achieve our goals for repopulation in fall 2021.
Vaccinations are by appointment only, and you will need to sign up at one of the local clinics. Information regarding sites and appointments can be found on the Fresno County Department of Public Health website. Scroll down to the heading “COVID-19 Vaccination Sites.” The website is working and our university community is getting access to the vaccines.
While the CSU cannot require employees to receive a COVID-19 vaccination, I sincerely encourage you to take advantage of this opportunity. Ideally, if you are teaching or have frequent in-person contact with students, we recommend that you sign up as soon as possible. Please note that student assistants are not eligible at this time.
We are committed to protecting the health and well-being of our students and employees, and will continue to stay in close communication with the Fresno County Department of Public Health for guidance and resources to support our campus community.
This is the opportunity we’ve all been waiting for!
Sincerely,
Saúl Jiménez-Sandoval, Ph.D.
Interim President
