COVID-19 Updates

Update - COVID Rapid Antigen Test Kits, Supplies, and Vaccines

09/19/2023

Dear Campus Community,

As we move into the cold/flu season, we wanted to provide updated information related to the campus availability of COVID Rapid Antigen (at-home test kits), supplies, and information on where you can access flu shots and COVID vaccines.

COVID Rapid Antigen Test Kits

The campus was fortunate to receive Higher Education Emergency Relief Funds (HEERF) during the pandemic through June 2023 to purchase a large supply of COVID Rapid Antigen test kits that we were able to offer for free to the campus community. Unfortunately, for all higher education institutions, HEERF funds are no longer available and we have a very small supply of test kits remaining. Once our current inventory is finished, students will be able to continue to obtain free kits from the Student Health and Counseling Center. For employees, per Cal-OSHA requirements, complimentary test kits will only be provided to those employees who had a close contact at work and to employees in an outbreak area. These will be provided at no cost by the Office of Environmental Health and Safety/Risk Management.

Free COVID-19 test options are offered by the Fresno County Department of Public Health.

As a reminder, please stay home if you are sick or not feeling well. If you test positive, please fill out the online form immediately. Students who are experiencing symptoms should contact the Student Health and Counseling Center at 559.278.2734 for further medical direction.

 Flu Shots and Vaccines

Flu shots and COVID vaccine boosters are available through your primary care physician and pharmacies. The Student Health and Counseling Center will offer a flu clinic for students - details will be provided once finalized. We regret that we were not able to identify a resource for any flu shot clinics for employees, but please consult your health care provider.

Facemasks, Hand Sanitizer and Disinfectant Wipes

Other COVID-related supplies that were purchased with HEERF funds, including facemasks, disinfectant wipes and hand sanitizer will continue to be provided until our current inventory is depleted.

Kits with disinfectant spray, paper towels and gloves will continue to be available by submitting a request to Custodial Services. Hand sanitizer stations will continue to be maintained at the first floor entrance to most campus buildings.

Our COVID website continues to be a valuable resource for the most recent guidelines for when you need to isolate or quarantine. Please take the time to review this information. The campus will continue to follow these guidelines until further notice.

Kind regards,
