COVID-19 Updates

Spring 2023 Covid Testing and Clinic Updates

January 17, 2023

Dear Campus Community,

I hope everyone had a good holiday break.  As we return to campus for the spring semester, I wanted to provide updated information on our COVID Testing Center as well as details regarding an upcoming vaccine clinic.

Covid Testing

Free PCR and Rapid Antigen testing will continue to be available to campus employees and students this semester.  However, please note that the COVID Testing Center, located on the main level of the USU, will no longer be staffed to monitor testing or provide PCR testing services. PCR test kits are available from a self-service vending machine located on the main level of the USU.  All deposited tests will be picked up M-F before 12 p.m. for lab testing and results will be provided within 24 - 72 hours.  Rapid Antigen test kits are available for pickup from the Student Health and Counseling Center, Library, and USU.

Students who are experiencing symptoms can contact the Student Health and Counseling Center at 559.278.2734 for further medical direction.

Flu and Vaccine Clinic

With support from our partners at UCSF Fresno, we have scheduled an additional walk-in clinic for COVID-19 vaccinations and flu shots that are available to all employees and students, at no cost.

The clinic will be held on Thursday, January 26 from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. The clinic will offer flu shots and COVID-19 vaccinations to all employees and students in the Lynda and Stewart Resnick Student Union lobby. Bring a photo ID and your vaccine card.

In accordance with CDC recommendations, COVID-19 booster shots will be available for those who are two (2) months past their full vaccination status.

This clinic will offer both monovalent and bivalent Pfizer, Moderna, Novavax, and flu vaccines. Please be sure to bring a photo ID and your previous COVID-19 booster record (if applicable) with you.  We hope you will take advantage of this convenient opportunity.  If you have any questions, please feel free to contact Amy Luna amyluna@csufresno.edu, Emergency Preparedness Manager.

As a reminder, please stay home if you are sick or not feeling well regardless of your vaccination status. If you test positive, please fill out the online form immediately. Please continue to follow campus public health protocols by completing the Daily Health Screening questions before coming to campus and we strongly consider getting the booster if you are vaccinated. Our COVID website continues to be a valuable resource for the most recent guidelines for when you need to isolate or quarantine. Please take the time to review this information. The campus will continue to follow these guidelines until further notice.

Kind regards,

Debbie Adishian-Astone
