The Fresno County Department of Public Health (FCDPH) confirmed the first case of coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) in Fresno County. This is a travel-related case and was not community-acquired. At this time, the FCDPH says there is no immediate threat to the general public, and is not recommending cancellation of events, closure of schools, or buildings at this time.

Since the status of classes and campus operations may be on people’s minds as they learn of the first confirmed case in Fresno County (not on campus), President Joseph I. Castro shared a message with the campus community about Fresno State's emergency preparedness plans and procedures. Read the letter

There are no reported cases of COVID-19 on the Fresno State campus or in Fresno County at this time.
